Same-Day Asphalt Pavement Repair in San Antonio

Pavecon can repave your San Antonio neighborhood street or apartment complex parking lot with minimal disruption to your residents.

Because Pavecon is one of the only Texas paving companies to offer asphalt full-depth reclamation, we are also one of the only Texas paving companies that can promise same-day pavement repair for asphalt streets and parking lots.

Pavecon’s asphalt recycling with cement stabilization process, also known as asphalt full-depth reclamation, allows us to work all day in a neighborhood or apartment complex, for example, and residents can drive to their houses when they come home from work.

That turnaround speed is not possible with the old method of pavement repair, which involves completely removing and replacing base material. Yet that is the only method most San Antonio pavement companies can offer.

Pavement Repair

We Can Turn Your Damaged Asphalt Into Your Strongest Pavement Ever

Besides saving time and money, one of the best parts about recycled asphalt with cement stabilization is that it allows us to reuse even the most severely damaged pavement to create new pavement that is even more stable than the original construction.

When Pavecon recycles asphalt pavement for our San Antonio customers, we use the existing asphalt pavement and base material, spread portland cement over the area and pulverize it in-place at the required depth. Once the base is stabilized, we remove a small amount of excess material, grade and compact it for paving, then pave a new asphalt surface course.

How Asphalt Full-Depth Reclamation Works

An asphalt pavement section has three layers: The subgrade, the base and the asphalt paving. The subgrade is the foundation. In most commercial car parking lots, the base sits on the subgrade at about eight-to-ten inches thick. The asphalt surface course is then paved on top of the base.

When asphalt starts to buckle, show failures or develop potholes, which is common for San Antonio asphalt, the problem is much deeper than the visible surface. Broken asphalt means the base has failed. To repair it properly, you have two options.

One option is removing and replacing. That means tearing out the two-inch asphalt existing surface overlay and all eight-to-ten inches of base beneath it. Then, all the old pavement and base material is hauled out in several dump truck loads and legally dumped in a landfill. A new parking lot is constructed in its place from the base up. Labor, transportation, dumping fees, equipment and time add up to significant costs. Not to mention, waste.

By far, the more cost-efficient option is asphalt full-depth reclamation (FDR). Pavecon has the know-how and equipment to provide asphalt full-depth reclamation standard on every asphalt pavement repair in San Antonio.
